Hi all dsn folks,
i think that all of you know about audists and audism practice. We are equal. what about a deaf person being in a charge of a deaf project at any seva site. Should a deaf person be in a charge of the deaf project at the seva site??? What do you think? i know it is a tough issue.
I learn that american with disabilities act requires a person to be knowledgable of deaf services system and to be able to communicate with any deaf in asl. I am thankful to GOD that I have my good friend who is a speech therapist with a ma college degree in speech and communication. she and i practice asl on vp for 2 to 4 hours. She and i are rssb members.
the rssb member thinks that she can make any decision with my knowledge. i tell her that she can not do that unless she is excellent at asl and deaf culture.
my good friend disagrees with her. i should be in a charge of the deaf project at the seva site.
for a example i test a pc system with 17 in pc laptop and a hdmi tv set. the test was perfect. i have a bad
sight due to usher's syndrome. BUT the rssb member ingores my needs. I challenge her if she wants to be deaf blind. she says nothing but she is trying to control me . I never let her control me. my good friend and her husband are on my site. they know about ada law is good.
i need your help on how to deal with an audist at the seva site. you are welcome to make a good criticism and any suggestion.
